A must visit destination

Nestled in the heart of Estepona, the Orchidarium (Orquidario de Estepona) stands as a modern marvel and a verdant sanctuary, captivating visitors with its architectural elegance and botanical richness. Since its inauguration in March 2015, this botanical garden has become a cornerstone of the town's identity, attracting over 54,000 visitors in 2024 alone, a testament to its growing allure and significance in the region. A Living Tapestry of Flora

Spanning approximately 1,000 square meters, the Orchidarium houses an impressive collection of over 1,500 orchid species, represented by nearly 4,000 individual plants. These orchids hail from diverse climates, including South America and Southeast Asia, offering a kaleidoscope of colours, shapes, and fragrances. Among the collection is the rare Amorphophallus titanum, known for its infrequent and spectacular blooming cycle.

The garden's design features a 17-meter-high waterfall, creating a humid microclimate essential for the orchids' growth and adding to the immersive experience. Visitors can meander through winding paths, discovering orchids in various settings, from hanging displays to miniature varieties housed in specialized glass enclosures.

Architectural Splendor

The Orchidarium's striking architecture, conceived by architects Fernando Gómez Huete and Gustavo Gómez Huete, features three glass domes, with the central dome soaring to 30 meters . This design not only provides optimal light for the plants but also creates a visually stunning environment that blends seamlessly with the surrounding botanical elements.
