PLACES & WONDERS

We are proud of the diversity of culture and opportunity in our surrounding communities. We are celebrating with a guide to our time honoured favourites and descriptions and wonders of the places we call home.

ESTEPONA The Jewel in the Crown of the Costa de Sol

Estepona, located in the province of Malaga in Andalusia, is a stunning Spanish coastal city that is known for its awe-inspiring views, lush green forests and clear turquoise waters. It is one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol.

Estepona has a vibrant atmosphere, with plenty of things to do, from exploring its historical heritage to enjoying its relaxed beach lifestyle. Many tourists visit Estepona for its year-round fun in the sun. From its luxurious spa resorts, to its lively restaurants and bars, our city really knows how to put on an unforgettable show.

Estepona has a variety of fascinating sites to explore, such as its old town, Parque Eroticom, the Roman remains at the castle of San Luis and the Blas Infante House Museum. Tourists can also take beautiful hikes in the Sierra Bermeja Mountains, experience the exciting watersports of its beaches and explore the numerous monuments in Estepona.

Estepona is renowned for its more than 20 magnificent beaches, and many come here to soak up the warm“moorish” sun along the seashore and partake in some leisurely beach activities. The popular La Salida Beach offers a wild and romantic atmosphere. El Cristo Beach is great for water sports, such as windsurfing, and El Saladillo Beach is a beautiful spot for fishing and swimming.

WHERE IS ESTEPONA?

Shopping is another great pastime in Estepona – there are lots of great stores and boutiques that offer shopping pleasure, ideal for the shop-a-holic. Estepona also hosts an array of festivals throughout the year, such as La Feria de Mayo, La Semana Santa and La Noche de las Velas.

If you’re looking for a sunnier escape, Estepona is the perfect place for you! With its stunning views, sunny beaches and perfect climate, this coastal city is the perfect place for a much-needed getaway and will make sure you experience a Spanish vacation to remember.

Estepona has changed significantly in the past 15 years with massive improvements to infrastructure. With the addition of green areas to counter balance the new buildings, a theatre, athletics stadium, promenade and several luxurious new hotels in the town centre as well as the beautiful IKOS hotel just east of the city. House prices are up and those seeking the quieter Spanish life, away from the glitz of Marbella have found a home here.

Estepona has San Pedro just 10 minutes to the east and La Duquesa the same to the west.
